Zgodba morda manj znane, a med poznavalci izjemno cenjene zasedbe Marcus 5 se je začela leta 1982 na ljubljanskem podstrešju, kjer sta vadila kitarist Borut Kržišnik in bobnar Friderik Vargazon – Fredi. Kmalu so se jima pridružili še basist Jani Hace (Siddharta, Elevators, Benč & prijatelji, Ecliptic, Sladica idr.), kitarist Zvone Kukec (Sokoli, Don Mentony Band, Elektrika) ter pevec in avtor besedil Vinci Vogue Anžlovar.
Skupina je igrala energičen alternativni funk, ki je črpal navdih pri zasedbah, kot so Gang of Four, Talking Heads, Defunkt in Joy Division. Med letoma 1982 in 1985 so nastali številni posnetki, ki so bili pozneje »rešeni« iz javnih in zasebnih arhivov ter na novo profesionalno obdelani v studiu.
