Biography

Shane Cooper is a South African bassist and composer known for his innovative approach to jazz and electronic music. Born in 1986 in Cape Town, South Africa, Cooper began playing the bass at a young age and quickly developed a deep passion for music.

Cooper rose to prominence in the South African music scene as a member of various bands and projects, including the jazz quartet Card on Spokes and the electronic duo Mabuta. His unique style blends elements of jazz, electronic, and African music, creating a sound that is both modern and rooted in tradition.

In addition to his work as a performer, Cooper is also a prolific composer and producer. He has released several critically acclaimed albums, including “Oscillations” and “Ivy League”, which showcase his talent for creating immersive, genre-defying music.
