Rostam is an American indie rock band formed by Rostam Batmanglij, a talented musician, producer, and songwriter. Rostam, the band, is a solo project of Batmanglij, who is also known for his work as a founding member of the indie rock band Vampire Weekend.

Born to Iranian parents in Washington, D.C., Rostam Batmanglij grew up surrounded by music and was drawn to a wide range of genres from a young age. His diverse musical influences can be heard in the music of Rostam, which blends elements of indie rock, pop, electronic, and world music.
