Rio is a Brazilian rock band formed in 1981 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The band was founded by lead vocalist and guitarist, Rodrigo Santos, along with guitarist Marcos Saboia, bassist Nelson Meirelles, and drummer Gerson Koppe. Rio quickly gained popularity in the local music scene with their energetic live performances and catchy rock sound.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Rio released several successful albums that showcased their unique blend of rock, pop, and Brazilian influences.
