Biography

Johnny Clarke is a Jamaican reggae artist who rose to fame in the 1970s with his smooth vocals and socially conscious lyrics. Born in Kingston, Clarke began his music career as a child singing in church before venturing into the ska and rocksteady scenes. He gained recognition for his collaborations with legendary producer Bunny Lee and released several hit singles such as “None Shall Escape the Judgement” and “Move Out of Babylon.” Known for his soulful voice and powerful delivery, Clarke’s music often tackles themes of oppression, injustice, and spirituality. With a career spanning over five decades, he continues to be a respected figure in the reggae community.
