Biography

Howler is an indie rock band hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The band, originally formed in 2010, consists of Jordan Gatesmith (vocals, guitar), Max Petrek (keyboards), Rory MacMurdo (guitar), Ian Nygaard (bass), and Brent Mayes (drums).

Howler gained attention with their energetic live performances and catchy, lo-fi rock sound. Drawing influences from garage rock and punk, the band quickly built a following in the Minneapolis music scene and beyond. In 2011, Howler released their debut EP, “This One’s Different,” which received critical acclaim for its raw and infectious sound.

The following year, Howler released their debut full-length album, “America Give Up,” which further solidified their reputation as a band to watch. The album featured anthemic tracks like “Back of Your Neck” and “Told You Once,” showcasing the band’s knack for crafting catchy, guitar-driven songs.

Since then, Howler has continued to tour and release new music, evolving their sound while staying true to their roots. Their live shows are known for their high energy and crowd-pleasing performances, earning them a reputation as a must-see live act.
