Biography

DUR DUR was a pioneering and influential band from Somalia that emerged in the 1980s and became known for their unique fusion of traditional Somali music with elements of funk, reggae, and pop. The band was formed in the capital city of Mogadishu by a group of young musicians who were part of the vibrant music scene in the country at the time.

Led by the charismatic vocalist Asma Omar and the talented instrumentalist Abdinur Daljir, DUR DUR quickly gained a reputation for their energetic live performances and catchy, danceable music.
