Biography

Croatian chanson & pop music singer-songwriter and composer born June 23, 1944 in Zadar, Croatia.

Đani Maršan comes from a Italian family that moved from the former Italian part of the Arbanas peninsula in Zadar. Đani speaks English and Italian actively, and for Italian he points out that it is like his mother tongue. In addition, he speaks Russian and German, and Albanian.

Đani Maršan was educated in Zadar, where he finished elementary school, and after that he entered the Maritime Secondary School. After finishing high school, he worked as an officer on a ship for two years. After that, he entered the College of Foreign Trade in Zagreb, where he graduated in 1969 and dedicated himself to a musical career.

Also he has been active in Croatian diplomacy since 1996, holding the position of Minister Counselor in the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in the Holy See and in the Sovereign Order of Knights of Malta. After that, he worked as a consul in Trieste, Perth and finally, since 2010, in Milan where he is the Consul General of the Republic of Croatia.

He is a half-brother of [a=Tomislav Ivčić] and brother of [a=Vedran Ivčić]. he is also related to singer [a345896].
